Don't be a victim to scams

Elderly scams are on the rise. Scammers pretend to work with Amazon, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard, which may present elaborate issues about your computer or phone. Scammers will also call you for software renewal. They will also notify you that you have been qualified for a personal loan, business loan, or HELOC. Legitimate financial institutions will never call you unless you have made initial contact with them from a local office you have visited. Beware of putting your information online because some websites may look legitimate, but it links to these scammers. Be on the lookout for dating websites (because it is a hotbed for scammers to prey on their victims), military, and cryptocurrency scams. The bottom line if anyone asks you for money on the phone or online, it's a scam. Safeguard your heart and your wallet from scammers. If you or someone you know could be talking to a scammer or have been scammed, contact us or reach out to your local Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Trade Commission, Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
